Job Description Our client is a well known charity organisation throughout the UK and are currently going through a period of growth. They are looking to add a Data Manager with business intelligence experience to their team, on a permanent basis.
PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION:
A critical role to provide information and insights about the performance of the charity and to inform decisions about our future work.
To maintain the performance data system for the organisation, and liaising with all departments regularly to collect, format and present a wide range of information for both internal and external use.
Analyse business data, including that from crime reporting, to present useful insights which can support decision making and future plans.
Manage the relationship with the IT manged service provider and other suppliers as needed to oversee improvement projects to our network and systems.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data / Intelligence analysis
Produce monthly performance reports
Through research in our database, provide campaign statistics and research, including examples of redacted reports for Regional Managers, Communications and Business Growth and Fundraising (BG&F).
Conduct analysis and present changes and/or trends to inform relationships with police forces, and the charity’s campaigns/community work.
Produce Monthly Management Information reports for Business Growth and Fundraising clients and Home Office, and other reports relating to performance and disseminations as needed. This includes quarterly reports to support Regional Manager funding.
Look for opportunities to improve data processing and analytics, working with data scientists and suppliers as needed to implement.
Support other departments to use ‘self serve’ tools to access data, including making sure they comply with data governance.
Work with Information Security Manager to make sure data held confidentially, is processed to ensure its integrity and available to those that need it.
Manage 3rd party vendors including data systems providers and managed service provider to oversee service delivery particularly on improvements to our network and systems.
Maintain regular communications with IT managed service provider, to make sure they provide service as needed.
Oversee improvement projects (part of agreed IT and Data strategies) for our network and systems.
Liaise with internal teams as necessary so all staff are informed and included in changes.
Work with Information Security Manager to make sure IT projects are implemented with due regard for security and change processes.
Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications
Able to analyse and present data well, using a variety of tools (Essential)
Well organised, able to manage a wide range of work from many different sources, with many routine tasks as well as regular requests for support. (Essential)
Good communicator, both written and verbal. Able to explain findings of research and data clearly. (Essential)
Excellent numeracy and competence in using tools such as Excel. High levels of attention to detail (Essential)
Able to deal with, on a daily basis, information which may be impactful. Must be discrete about this information. (Essential)
Able to identify and develop tools and processes to improve access to and management of data across the charity. (Essential)
Experience of managing suppliers to make sure services/ products supplied are working effectively. (Essential)
Knowledge/ experience of data science and tools (Desirable)
