Financial Accounting Manager

Didcot

Our client, a division of a high profile, international, FTSE 100 business is looking for a Financial Accounting Manager to oversee the global financial accounting team. This a new team that needs a leader to bring people together across multiple geographies and create an inspiring and collaborative working environment. The Financial Accounting Manager will lead the team of financial accountants who are responsible for all financial reporting requirements for the busines both locally at sites and the group consolidation. You will be an instrumental part in driving standardisation and automation across all our processes. You will report to the Financial Controller and will have regular exposure to senior management along with interaction with the Group Finance team to assist with their analysis and reporting to parent company.

Duties and tasks

- Responsibility for the financial accounting records and financial reporting requirements of the business sites

- Responsibility for the group consolidation and submissions to shareholders

- Lead, develop and inspire the financial accounting team on a day-to-day basis to ensure the highest standards are met

- Ownership of the consolidated financial accounts and managing the external audit of the business

- Ownership of the company statutory accounts and managing the external audit process for all entities

- Supporting the Financial Controller to drive standardisation and automation across all sites in the finance processes - Ensuring the group accounting policies are updated, documented and compliant with IFRS and the Group's accounting policies

- Ensuring a robust and documented internal control environment for all our financial processes across all sites

- Preparing or reviewing technical accounting papers for complex accounting judgements such as valuation of goodwill and recoverability of deferred tax assets

- Responsibility for the draft annual tax computations and liaison with our professional tax advisors and auditors to ensure accurate and timely filing of all tax returns

- Ownership of the accuracy and completeness of the financial data held within JDE and HFM within the monthly management and annual statutory reporting

- Comply with Group procedures including Health & Safety Criteria skills

- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with evidence of good breadth of PQE in industry

Requirements

- Proven management skills and a demonstrable interest in the management and development of people

- Ability to bring together a team to create a motivating and collaborative working environment

- Ability to influence a team and bring people along on the change journey to create a best in class global financial accounting function - Knowledge of internal controls

- Highly motivated, intellectually curious willing to critically challenge ideas and processes

- Effective communicator across geographies and levels, both within finance and with the wider business

- Experience of successfully delivering continuous improvement, standardisation and / or digitalisation projects
