TEACHER OF HISTORY: PERMANENT CONTRACT
DAY RATE £150-165
Required from September 2024, an enthusiastic and well qualified teacher to teach History across the full age and ability range.
Responsible to: CURRICULUM LEADER HISTORY & FACULTY LEADER HUMANITIES CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT AND GENERAL DUTIES ?
You are employed exclusively in the capacity of a teacher subject to and with the benefit of the conditions of employment as set out in the School Teachers' Pay and Conditions Document currently in force, having due regard to the requirements of the National Curriculum, Curriculum for Wales and the school's aims and policies.
To share in the corporate responsibilities for the wellbeing and discipline of all pupils and carry out supervisory duties in accordance with published rosters. Attend appropriate meetings with colleagues and parents relative to your duties and responsibilities. ? To be a member of the History Department and to teach learners under the direction of the Faculty Leader and Curriculum Leader.
Participate with colleagues in the development of appropriate syllabuses, materials, and schemes of learning
To be a wellbeing tutor of an assigned wellbeing group and carry out related duties in accordance with the job description of a wellbeing tutor, under the direction of the Progress Leader or to be a relief wellbeing tutor.
Participate in relevant professional learning to ensure professional development and to engage fully with the schools performance management policies and procedures.
JOB PURPOSE ? Promote the activities of the History department and Humanities faculty in and out of school and where appropriate provide information for students and parents.
CURRICULUM ? Provide relevant learning opportunities to help develop learners understanding of all subjects taught, ensuring effective coverage of exam specifications, what matters statements, cross curricular competences, integral skills, and cross-cutting themes as outlined in the Curriculum for Wales.
LEARNING AND TEACHING ? Be accountable for promoting and delivering effective learning and teaching, incorporating whole school policies and approaches.
ACHIEVEMENT Assessment and Reporting ? Implement school policy with regard to achievement, assessment and reporting for all classes taught. ? Assist students in setting targets for future performance. ? Implement whole school policies
TEACHING GROUPS ? The teaching of learners across the full age and ability range according to the demands of the timetable. ? To mark work and provide feedback on a regular basis according to the whole school policy.
DISCIPLINE ? Oversee the conduct and behaviour of learners in accordance with the schools policy on behaviour and discipline.
PERSONAL ? Keep up to date with contemporary developments in education and teaching. ? Endeavour to attend relevant in-service courses and meetings and provide feedback to others. ? Provide, by personal example, high professional standards to all stakeholders.
