Andersen James are currently supporting a national housing provider with their seach for a Property Surveyor on a permanent basis.
In this crucial position, you'll lead and manage the delivery of property investment, repairs, and inspections across a diverse portfolio of 20-40 locations. Working closely with our housing and care operations teams, you'll ensure timely service delivery, keeping properties in excellent condition while aligning with our property strategy targets.
Your responsibilities will include managing substantial budgets ranging from £1.75m to £2.5m, overseeing contract management to meet contractual obligations, and conducting comprehensive building pathology inspections. You'll manage complex projects, collaborate with our Strategic Partnership Team for robust forecasting, valuations, and contract instructions, and identify cost-saving opportunities through effective partnerships with contractors and our commercial team.
A key aspect involves building strong relationships with residents:
* Attending local resident group meetings
* Gathering feedback to ensure resident voices are heard
* Conducting regular inspections, including asbestos re-inspections
* Analysing portfolio performance for investment/repair recommendations
The ideal candidate will have:
* Minimum 3 years' experience managing property activities in housing
* Proven social housing maintenance/investment experience
* Extensive building pathology and remediation knowledge
* Project management expertise in investment, compliance, reactive works
* Strong interpersonal, networking, and communication skills
* Ability to interpret data for service planning
Desirable qualifications:
* Significant building pathology experience in housing
* Working towards MRICS or MCIOB status
