Position overview
ProPharma is currently partnering with a Biological group establishing a new facility based out of the UK. Currently they require short term support from a ‘Validation Microbiologist’ to support a variety of matters to help them achieve their final GMP certification. This project is to commence immediately; it will offer full time hours for one month but with a potential for further support along the line of the project. This is an onsite position based in Hampshire.
Responsibilities include
Train a small team in the actual sample collecting, incubation, basic morphology, and gram staining
Carry out morphology tests and identification and subsequent gram staining.
Carry out preparation of pure samples for external speciation
Prepare and incubate as required pure cultures for standard compendials.
Prepare and incubate as required any specific cultures that appear in our baseline monitoring and are not covered by the compendial isolates.
Carry out the coupon testing against three disinfectants including all dilutions.
Write the final report
Support cleaning validation and review
Check the SOP’s for active air sampling, use of machine and post-processing which is included in the Risk assessment
Preparation of pure cultures and either carry out the exercise or train us to do so.
Qualifications
A University degree in Microbiology or a related life-sciences discipline
Must have demonstrated experience working in Validation linked to Microbiology
Ideally exposed to all tasks set out within the job description
Can start immediately and work full time for 1 month
Can attend the site in Hampshire on a daily basis
Overall support and guidance to our client in the Microbiology area
