The Senior People Business Partner will be responsible for providing business-focused generalist HR advice, guidance, and interventions across a geographical area, as well as a collection of operational departments. Duties will primarily focus on the professional areas of Performance & Reward, Employee Relations, Resource and Talent Planning and Organisational Design.

Description
The Senior People Business Partner will be responsible for providing business-focused generalist HR advice, guidance, and interventions across a geographical area, as well as a collection of operational departments. Duties will primarily focus on the professional areas of Performance & Reward, Employee Relations, Resource and Talent Planning and Organisational Design.
The Senior People Business Partner will contribute to and support the implementation of Employee Engagement and Organisational Development activities and will also liaise with the HR Services team to ensure that all contractual and payroll activities are delivered accurately and on time.
Performance & Reward
Build a high-performance culture by analysing performance management practices
Provide support to line management through the delivery of appropriate coaching and training, to ensure that performance management interventions are delivered effective and timely
Analyse periodic performance data against the company reward schemes
Support the annual pay review process by checking that proposed pay reviews are appropriately rewarding the best performing
Employee Relations
Proactively monitor the implementation of organisational policies and procedures
Provide HR support to line management on all ER issues, including employee sickness/ absence, attendance, performance, disciplinary, and grievance matters
Monitor employee satisfaction and employee engagement survey data for any emergent employee relations issues and ensures that any identified issues are addressed appropriately and in a timely manner
Support the timely resolution of informal complaints by advising all relevant parties on appropriate discussions and actions, and where appropriate acting as an impartial facilitator to support resolution
Manage the company's response to formal grievances, ensuring appropriate correspondence is sent out to relevant parties in a timely manner in line with company policies and procedures and legislative requirements
Carry out investigations into grievances and perform HR advisory responsibilities as required
Resource & Talent Planning
Advise on the design and implementation of recruitment, selection and retention policies, procedures and practices to ensure the business is able to identify, attract, select and retain the best talent
Influence senior management's planning decisions to ensure that adequate consideration is given to contractual changes, as well as current and future competency requirements
Ensure that all live vacancies have up-to-date job descriptions and person specifications, prior to the commencement of recruitment activity
Monitor and report on recruitment and selection data, e.g. time to fill, probation conversion rates, qualitative information from assessors and candidates etc
Monitor and analyse employee turnover, leave reasons, exit interviews, satisfaction and engagement survey data against strategic objectives, and present this information regularly at management meetings
Organisational Design
Advise management on desired organisational changes and the best, most cost effective methods of achieving these, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum redeployment of excellent talent
Support management through consultation activities, either through direct involvement in consultation meetings, or through the provision of advice and guidance as required
Advise on the TUPE in and TUPE out of employees and where TUPE applies lead on the design and delivery of communications, consultation activities with affected employees
Profile
Chartered Member (MCIPD) or an Associate Member (Assoc MCIPD) currently working towards Chartered Membership Status
Excellent HR business partnering experience at senior level and ideally across a multi-site business
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Willing to travel across the UK (focusing predominantly on the Northern territory)
Experience of advising management on employee relations issues
Experience of managing restructuring exercises, involving the full cycle of HR interventions
Experience of internal recruitment and selection processes
Experience of handling complex ER cases
Experience of leading HR projects involving consultative activity with key internal stakeholders
An excellent understanding of employment law
Experience of working in a fast-paced environment that is subject to regular change
Commercially-focused and capable of providing people focused interventions
Experience of TUPE is beneficial
Job Offer
Salary £50,000 - £60,000 per annum (plus £5,000 car allowance)
12-month fixed-term contract
