About the Role
Are you a highly creative and motivated test engineer who enjoys breaking down technical challenges to build frameworks that can monitor and improve the reliability of solutions?
We are currently looking to recruit a Test Engineer to join our Technology team to support our test efforts. You will work as a part of the test team to develop automation that supports the next generation of systems, driving our world-leading geospatial and business applications. The team is focused on the use of automatic feature extraction to deliver solutions / data layers for our customers using cutting edge technology and approaches.
Within the agile team, you will work alongside other test engineers, absorbing their knowledge and manually testing release items. Once established, you will work closely with Engineers and Architects across the programme of work, providing support to the Test Lead and Seniors in shaping both back and front-end CI/CD test automation infrastructures.
You will also report to and provide regular updates to the domain Leadership; providing assurance at team retrospectives and planning sessions to ensure best practice, continual improvements and appropriate standards are adhered to.
What we're looking for

Ability to design, write and maintain test frameworks.
Experience of Databricks & Azure Data Factory.
Experience working in Agile environment and Cross Functional teams.
Participate in feature/story definition and refinement, including identifying risks and acceptance criteria.
Ability to define functional and non-functional tests, together with associated test data.
Ability to write SQL Queries.
Experience in one or more technologies: JSON, YAML.
Proficiency in programming languages (E.g. Python, C#, JavaScript).
Ability to carry out targeted exploratory testing.
Participate in release planning, deployment, and closedown activities.
Experience In the Following Areas Would Be Advantageous
Awareness of geospatial systems, data, and technologies
A profound understanding or experience in machine learning. · Testing with Azure Cloud and good knowledge of the Azure Portal or Azure DevOps (or similar).
Demonstrable knowledge of continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
Experience testing data quality. · ISTQB Foundation certification or recognised equivalent. · Prior experience in mentoring and teaching automation skills to others.

Salary - £37,511 - £44,130

Location
We embrace a hybrid working model at OS and understand there is no one size fits all in relation to how we work. We have a fantastic HQ in Southampton, Hampshire where you may work from one of our regional offices or spend more time at OSHQ.
Security
OS conducts DBS background checks for all joiners and some of our roles require additional security clearance, including to SC or DV level in some cases. We will tell candidates at the appropriate time during the recruitment process if additional clearance will be required for this role.
