This full-time role will focus on providing individualised support to a child with Cerebral Palsy, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.
Role Overview: As a Year 4 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other support staff to deliver tailored assistance to a student with Cerebral Palsy. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring the child's physical, emotional, and educational needs are met, enabling them to participate fully in classroom activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one support to the child, assisting with mobility, communication, and classroom activities.
Adapt learning materials and teaching methods to suit the child's needs and abilities.
Collaborate with the class teacher to implement individual education plans (IEPs).
Foster an inclusive and positive classroom environment.
Assist with personal care tasks as required, maintaining the child's dignity and comfort.
Monitor and record the child's progress, sharing insights with the teaching team and parents.
Encourage social interaction and participation in group activities.Qualifications and Skills:
Experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly those with physical disabilities, is highly desirable.
A relevant qualification in education or special needs support (e.g., CACHE Level 3, SEN diploma) is preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
