We are now recruiting a Sous Chef to join our team at Double Tree by Hilton York.
As a Sous Chef, you are responsible for taking control and accountability of the Kitchen departments while ensuring that standards are delivered at all times. We want a dedicated individual who oozes confidence and shows genuine sincerity for their team and every guest that walks through our doors.
Specifically, you will be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Assist in leading a team of 8 chefs and creating a teamwork driven environment which promotes great employee morale and ensures a high level of commitment and pride in their food.
Have a passion to bring a creative flare to menu changes and new dishes.
To assist in ensuring the profitability of food operations, this to include ensuring food stock-takes are carried out as required.
To assist with maintaining and constant improvement of departmental operating standards. This to include product/ menu development and menu specifications.
To control and monitor payroll costs for the department by allocating labour resources in line with forecasted business levels through payroll management.
To evaluate and act promptly and effectively on customer feedback received through any and all channels to achieve positive and consistent results.
Always maintain exceptionally high cleanliness standards in both outlets.
To mentor team members in the kitchen department who are undertaking an apprenticeship.
To assist with complying with statutory and Company requirements for Health and Safety, Food Safety, Risk Assessment, Licensing Laws, and other legislation and ensure your team are trained to meet the above requirements.
