Join our Enabling Functions team as a HR Team Manager and open up new pathways you never dreamt possible!

This role will be managing a team of administrators in our HR Shared Services department based in our Newcastle office. Open to full time and part time applicants.

What you'll be doing

As a HR Team Manager, you will have the following accountabilities:

Responsible for the quality delivery of key areas of the operational team workload across the UK (circa 40k requests per year) within agreed SLAs

Drive effective working of HR / Payroll Operational teams - to ensure consistent seamless deliver of end to end lifecycle process.

Ensure effective control points and quality checks are carried out against defined HR processes – and all findings are acted upon.

Be first point of contact for relevant service line escalations; investigating and resolving in line with escalations process

Effective people management; including performance and absence management as well as investigations of any conduct issues.

Conducting PDRs and Career Conversations

Communicate regularly with stakeholders to support partnership working

Drive and embed continuous improvement and documented processes and controls

Develop and coach team members – improving departmental knowledge and expertise and enabling succession planning

Support the HRSS leadership team with strategic goals and projects

Who we're looking for

The following qualities / experience are essential:

Established experience in a management capacity in a high-volume context

Strong organisational and planning skills, demonstrating accuracy and attention to detail.

Experience in building relationships across cross-functional teams

Established experience working in a fast-paced HR Shared Services environment

Excellent customer service focus and manner, demonstrating a sense of urgency in resolving issues.

Excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work well in a team environment, seeking the ideas of others and valuing differing perspectives.

Relentlessly working to understand the perspective of employees working with HR Shared Services

The following qualities/experience are desirable:

A combination of experience in team management and HR shared services would be advantageous however not essential;

Previous experience of Oracle HR systems;

Understanding of relevant general HR & Working Rule Agreement legislation;

Solid fundamentals working with Microsoft applications.
