GSL Education is working with a Secondary in the Malton area of North Yorkshire, to appoint a full-time Design Technology Teacher, with an immediate start date. For the right candidate, a September 2024 will be considered.
About the Role:
Planning and delivering a comprehensive and engaging curriculum for Product Design and Resistant Materials classes, aligned with the national curriculum.
Delivering high-quality and interactive lessons that incorporate practical skills related to product design and resistant materials technology.
Develop and maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of the areas of teaching for which you are responsible.
Create opportunities for learners to develop their literacy, numeracy, ICT and thinking and learning skills.
To play a full part in the life of the school community, and to encourage staff and students to follow this example.
Engaging in continuous professional development training and courses.

Design Technology Teacher Minimum Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Candidates should hold Qualified Teacher Status in the UK, or an equivalent teaching qualification recognised by relevant education authorities.
Relevant Degree: A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related field is required.
Subject Specialism: Strong subject knowledge and expertise in Design Technology, including proficiency in areas such as graphics, resistant materials, or electronics.
Teaching Experience: Prior teaching experience, ideally within a secondary school setting, is required. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with relevant training and experience will also be considered.
Commitment to Safeguarding: Awareness of and commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, complying with school policies and statutory requirements.
