Site Manager

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to oversee a flagship flatted development in East Lothian. Working with a project manager, the ideal candidate will have a proven track record in residential construction, excellent leadership abilities, and a keen eye for detail to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Requirements of the Role
- Manage day-to-day operations on the construction site, ensuring all activities are conducted in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Oversee and coordinate all site activities, including subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site personnel.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring timely completion of all project milestones.
- Monitor and control project costs, ensuring projects are completed within budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure work is being carried out to the required standards and specifications.
- Resolve any issues or conflicts that arise on-site in a timely and efficient manner.
- Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure clear communication and successful project delivery.
- Maintain accurate site records, including progress reports, daily logs, and any other necessary documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Education/Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Site Manager in the housing sector.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in project management software and tools.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various site locations as required.
- A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., SMSTS, CSCS) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the housing construction industry.
